Whistleblower Protection Policy for The Delta Academy

Introduction and Purpose

Introduction: The Delta Academy is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and accountability in all its operations. As part of this commitment, we encourage employees, students, parents, and community members to report any concerns about unlawful or unethical conduct within our school.

Purpose: The purpose of this Whistleblower Protection Policy is to establish procedures for reporting and addressing concerns related to fraud, corruption, abuse of authority, violations of laws or regulations, and other forms of misconduct. This policy aims to create a culture that values and protects whistleblowers from retaliation.

Confidential Reporting: Employees, students, parents, and community members are encouraged to report concerns through established channels. Reports can be made confidentially and anonymously, if desired, through the Delta Academy website (www.deltaacademylv.com).

Prohibition of Retaliation: Retaliation against individuals who make good faith reports is strictly prohibited. Retaliation includes, but is not limited to, adverse employment actions, harassment, and discrimination. Anyone found engaging in retaliation will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Investigation Process: Upon receipt of a report, The Delta Academy will promptly and impartially investigate the allegations. An investigation team, consisting of qualified and unbiased personnel, will be appointed to assess the reported concerns. Confidentiality will be maintained to the extent permitted by law.

Whistleblower Protections and Reporting Outcomes

Whistleblower Protections: Employees who make good faith reports will be protected from adverse employment actions. This protection extends to students, parents, and community members who report concerns. The identity of the whistleblower will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by law, and every effort will be made to protect against retaliation.

Reporting Outcomes: Upon completion of an investigation, The Delta Academy will communicate the findings to the whistleblower, if known, to the extent allowed by law. Corrective actions will be taken, as necessary, to address confirmed violations, and appropriate steps will be taken to prevent future misconduct.

Policy Review: This Whistleblower Protection Policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Any necessary updates will be made to reflect changes in best practices or legal requirements
